We fell in love with our Havanese puppy Jax at first sight.  Unfortunately, we were a little naive with what to expect from him.  We researched our area for a trainer to come into our home and assist us in training.  She made us feel inadequate and her umbilical training technique made us feel tied to our dog all day and it was certainly a loss of independence for me.

Thank god we found Carina!  Jax has improved with every session.  We noticed a change in his behavior the very first day after puppy kindergarten. After he completed his kindergarten classes, we went on a pre-planned vacation.  Carina took care of him for 2 weeks, in which he got constant attention and training.  What a pleasure to return and have such a well behaved puppy!  Jax is still in his growing stage and will continue to develop with Carina�s assistance.  She is always available to answer any questions we may have and goes out of her way to offer help and guidance.  We can't thank you enough for all you have done for us, and Jax!

Dum Dum is doing great, although consistent time to work with her is spotty.  Nevertheless, Dum Dum is very obedient, sitting and staying when told most of the time, jumping is under much better control and seldom has a potty accident in the house. In short, we are very pleased indeed!  And thank you for traveling all the way to Kendall to train my kids, housekeeper and nanny, even though you had such a bad cold at the time!  Your dedication is obvious!

Well, Kage is definitely a better dog in all aspects. He no longer potties in his cage, which is a blessing. He is very much social with other dogs and his behavior training benefited him as well. Whenever he does something good he is looking for treats! Thank you so much Carina for your help!

When I first got my puppy I was stressed out everyday. I hired a trainer and started to work with him. I did not like his techniques very much so I started to investigate what was out there. I began to get very nervous because I did not feel comfortable with anyone that I met with. My puppy started acting out and getting crazy. I finally found Carina! I had a good feeling from the minute I met her. After one session there was a huge change in my puppy's behavior. The training and the techniques are fantastic. I have found that she has a solution to almost every problem. I love the Canine Academy, it is making both my puppy and myself happier everyday.

We have TWO BOXERS, that's right, TWO! Both Charlize and Diesel have been enrolled in the Canine Academy since they were a few months old. They have benefited tremendously from their consistent training! If I say "Who wants to go to camp?" they are right on point and ready to go.

"My six month old Burmese Mountain dog changed when I went on a two week vacation.  Prior to going away he loved everybody.  He stayed with a house sitter at our home, that he loved, but when we returned he was very timid.  He was so afraid of new people that he was becoming a fear biter.  I take him to work everyday so this was not a good situation.

 I called several places and was most comfortable with Carina.  We went to see her and she confirmed that if the dog was not given some kind of training I would have a big problem.  Rolle started seeing Carina several times a week.  It took a few months, but he became much more accepting of strangers.  He loved playing with other dogs which gave him a lot more confidence.  He learned to feel safe when he was in our presence around strangers.  When Carina started with him, he would totally freak when he walked through a crowded parking lot.  After several months he could be walked and wouldn't cower or bark. Carina also trained him on basic obedience commands.  He will sit, stay, etc when commanded.  He will never be an outgoing dog, but in our presence he is totally well behaved.  I now have confidence in him.  He will make friends with new people, but on his terms.

 Carina is just wonderful with our dog.  I think he loves her even more than he loves us.  We are continuing with some basic obedience classes because I hate to separate Rolle from her.  I would recommend Carina to anyone with a puppy or a dog with problems."

(Housebreaking accidents, chewing, biting, barking, etc) However, since enrolling in Carina’s Puppy Kindergarten class we couldn’t be happier. Izzy the Great Dane is doing great! We have moved to New York, and the dogs now have a lot more room to play, which makes them happy! Anyhow, we really do want to thank you for what you did with Izzy. She has certainly retained the commands, even 1 year later. Not sure what we would have done otherwise, because she is a 130lbs dane puppy! Thankfully she still remembers your commands. She LOVES people! Too bad we live 1300 miles away from your school, otherwise we would have set her up for level 2 with you.

“Both of my German Shepherds have been enrolled with Carina at the Canine Academy since they were puppies. They have been in her Puppy Kindergarten program, Obedience program, Better Companion training program and Distraction Training program. I visited with and interviewed several trainers before selecting Carina. I found Carina to be approachable, easy to work with and loved the fact that my dogs had access to playtime with other dogs. They also love their pool time and it’s so convenient that they can board at the Lodge when we are on vacation. Carina’s positive and gentle training methods appealed to me, as I am not a fan of yelling, jerking, choke chains, and other harsh training methods. The training at the Canine Academy is very hands on, and I especially like the real world training sessions me and the dogs have had with Carina. I was amazed at the progress Carina, Snorkel's trainer, made in just 5-days. I challenged Carina to address several behavior problems plus obedience training, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results, especially Snorkel's heel and leash walking. In the past I've hesitated to invest in training for Snorkel, but after bringing home a well-mannered dog, I see it as a great value.
