Better Companion and Special Tutoring Training

     Better Companion Training is an effective way to make your dog a Better Companion! There are many examples of Better Companion training commands, with programs custom designed to target the areas you feel matter most to you and your pet. Better Companion training is best accomplished and most effective when the trainer and owner work very closely together during training sessions. The dog will not only be trained, but the owner will be coached in how to reinforce the behavior at home. Reinforcing the training at home once the dog has graduated is the only way to ensure the dog does not forget their hard earned skills once back in their home environment.

     Special Tutoring Training includes preparing a dog for the CGC test (Canine Good Citizen), agility or to improve specific skills for the purpose of becoming a service dog or  a volunteer pet therapy dog.  Programs are customized through consultations with our trainer.  Methods used are based on your dog's personality and skill level, along with your specific wishes. Most owners have an idea of what constitutes a well-behaved dog, but in general terms most people want a pet that doesn’t jump, pull on the leash, loose self control when out in public, door dash, steal food, bark excessively and so on… Most of us would also like for our dogs to listen, come when called, settle down when asked and act politely around people and other dogs. Special Tutoring Training will also prepare your dog for more advanced training programs.
